False advertising

I don’t usually pay much attention to the models in department store advertising, but yesterday this one caught my eye because it’s just so wrong.

This appeared in a Sears ad I got this week.

This woman’s shoulders look twice as wide as her waist. It disturbs me that this body type is presented as in any way normal or natural. It’s no wonder so many girls and women have body image issues if this is what advertisers think will sell clothes.

  1. That is crazy. It looks like two different bodies pasted together.

    • I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that’s what happened. Too many companies are going overboard with Photoshop.
