Lucille Ball is one of the most iconic women in television. She has long been a favorite of mine from her days on “I Love Lucy” (which I watched in reruns, obviously). She was also quite a pioneer in television. She was the first female head of a production company, first woman to be pregnant on television (even if she couldn’t use the word “pregnant”), and one of the first interracial couples. All of that is great, but I love her because she was funny. She had a gift for physical comedy and for breaking every limitation husband Ricky (Desni Arnaz) tried to impose on her.
Some of her most famous clips are below. I laughed out loud while watching them. Sixty years after “I Love Lucy” first aired, audiences still find enjoyment in them.
